The resort
SAii Phi Phi Island Village
SAii Phi Phi Island Village sits on Loh Ba Gao Bay on the north east coast of Koh Phi Phi Don, inside Hat Noppharat Thara Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park. It was formerly known as Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort.
The resort is spread through a coconut plantation behind an 800 metre private white sand beach. Bungalows and villas sit in tropical gardens and along the beach. Twelve pool villas stand higher up on the jungle slope with views out to sea.
The buildings are single storey Thai style bungalows and villas with wooden facades and thatched roofs. A four month refurbishment by the Bangkok studio Last Word Studio gave them a modern interior before the relaunch as SAii in February 2021.
There are two pools on the beach, five restaurants and cafes, a hillside spa, a gym, a tennis court and a dive centre. The Marine Discovery Centre runs shark and clownfish programmes and coral propagation, and staff and guests plant mangroves.
The resort is remote from Tonsai village. Guests arrive by the resort speedboat from Phuket, by public speedboat from Krabi, or by ferry to Tonsai Pier and then a longtail boat.

- Getting there
- From Phuket: resort speedboat from Royal Phuket Marina Pier, about 1 hour 15 minutes. Shared boats to the resort leave at 13:00 and 16:00, back to Phuket at 08:00 and 12:00. Land transfer from your Phuket hotel or the airport is included in the shared fare. Private boats can be booked.
- Phuket airport to the pier takes about 1 hour by car on top of the boat time.
- From Krabi: Go Phi Phi Trans public speedboat from River Marina Pier with stops on the way, about 60 minutes. Departures to the resort at 11:30 and 16:00, back to Krabi at 09:00 and 13:30. Land transfer from Krabi Town, Ao Nang, Klong Muang, Krabi Airport and other points is included.
- By public ferry: take the ferry to Tonsai Pier, then a longtail boat to the resort. You arrange the longtail yourself.
- At high tide boats land directly on the beach. At low tide you may walk a short way or switch to a small boat, and luggage follows to the room. The resort does not use tractors on the beach.
- In rough seas boats may dock at Loh Lana Bay instead. This happens more often from October to February.
