From here a trail continues to Viewpoint 3 and down to Nui Bay and Loh Lana. - [Phi Phi Viewpoint 3](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/phi-phi-viewpoint-3/) (Viewpoint): Highest and quietest of the three lookouts, a further 10 to 15 minutes along a rougher trail north of Viewpoint 2 with views over the east coast bays and the islands. Open about 05:30 to 18:30, no separate fee listed; sturdy shoes and water needed, slippery in the rainy season. The path from here descends to Ranti beach and the northern bays. - [Loh Dalum Bay](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/loh-dalum-bay/) (Loh Dalum): Crescent-shaped bay on the north side of the Tonsai isthmus, about one minute on foot from the ferry pier. The water is shallow and retreats a long way at low tide, so swimming is best around high tide; the sand is lined with beach bars that run fire shows after dark. A small tsunami memorial park sits at the eastern end of the beach. - [Tonsai Bay](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/tonsai-bay/) (Tonsai Bay): The south-facing bay where all ferries and speedboats arrive at Tonsai Pier. The beach is narrow and busy with moored longtail boats, so it is used more as the island's harbour and for sunset views of the cliffs than for swimming; Loh Dalum is a one-minute walk across the isthmus. A 20 baht cleaning fee is collected from arriving visitors at the pier. - [Long Beach (Hat Yao)](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/long-beach-hat-yao/) (Long Beach (Hat Yao)): A roughly one kilometre stretch of white sand on the south coast, facing Phi Phi Leh, about 30 to 40 minutes on foot from Tonsai via the coastal path or a few minutes by longtail taxi from the pier. It is quieter than the village with a handful of resorts and restaurants, and the snorkelling just offshore is some of the best on Phi Phi Don. Blacktip reef sharks are regularly seen off the eastern end (see Shark Point). - [Laem Tong Beach](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/laem-tong-beach/) (Laem Tong): About one kilometre of soft white sand on the east side of the island's northern tip, roughly 45 minutes by longtail from Tonsai or by resort speedboat. The beach is fronted by upscale resorts such as OUTRIGGER Phi Phi Island Resort and Phi Phi Holiday Resort, with a small sea-gypsy (Urak Lawoi) village at its southern end, and there is good snorkelling on the reef in front. Bamboo Island lies directly opposite across the channel. - [Loh Bagao Bay](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/loh-bagao-bay/) (Loh Bagao): An 800 metre beach on the north-east coast, 20 to 30 minutes by longtail from Tonsai Pier or a hilly walk of well over an hour. It is home to the SAii Phi Phi Island Village resort and the small village of Ban Loh Bagao with a few shops, laundries and restaurants. Swimming is good at high tide; the bay is shallow and partly rocky at low water. - [Phak Nam Bay](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/phak-nam-bay/) (Phak Nam): A small, quiet bay on the east coast with a couple of simple bungalow resorts and a fishing hamlet. It is reached by longtail from Tonsai in about 20 minutes or on foot from Viewpoint 3 along a steep jungle trail. The water is calm and swimmable at high tide; at low tide the bay is shallow and rocky. - [Ranti Beach](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/ranti-beach/) (Ranti): Also spelled Rantee, this secluded east-coast beach lies directly below the viewpoint ridge and is reached by a 30 to 40 minute downhill trail from Viewpoint 2 or by a short longtail ride from Tonsai. It has a few family-run bungalows and a small shop, coarse sand and a reef at both ends that is good for snorkelling. Bring cash; there are no ATMs. - [Nui Bay](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/nui-bay/) (Nui Bay): A tiny cove with white sand and clear water on the west coast, enclosed by limestone cliffs. Most visitors arrive by longtail or kayak; the walking approach from Loh Bagao crosses the ridge and the final stretch along the shore is only passable at low tide. Snorkelling off the rocks is good and there are no facilities, so bring water. - [Loh Lana Bay](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/loh-lana-bay/) (Loh Lana): A long, shallow bay on the north-west coast with a small fishing village (Ban Loh Lana) and almost no tourist development. It can be reached by longtail or by a roughly 30 minute walk across the island from Loh Bagao. The water is calm but shallow at low tide, so it suits wading and kayaking more than swimming. - [Monkey Beach (Yongkasem)](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/monkey-beach-yongkasem/) (Loh Dalum): Small white-sand cove on the western arm of Loh Dalum Bay, about 10 minutes by kayak from Loh Dalum beach or a short longtail hop from Tonsai. A troop of long-tailed macaques lives here; they are wild and will grab food, so do not feed them. The water is clear with coral close to shore, which makes it a regular stop on snorkelling trips. - [Loh Moo Dee Beach](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/loh-moo-dee-beach/) (Long Beach (Hat Yao)): A quiet, largely undeveloped beach on the east coast just north of Long Beach, reached by a 15 to 20 minute trail over the headland from the eastern end of Long Beach or by longtail. The sand is backed by trees that give shade, and the bay is good for swimming at high tide but rocky when the water is out. Bring your own food and water. - [Wang Long Bay](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/wang-long-bay/) (Other): A narrow, fjord-like inlet on the west coast between Monkey Beach and Nui Bay, enclosed by tall limestone walls with a tiny beach at its head. It is only accessible from the water and is a popular kayak destination from Loh Dalum (allow about an hour of paddling each way) or a stop on longtail trips. The sheltered green water is good for swimming at high tide. - [Maya Bay](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/maya-bay/) (Phi Phi Leh): The 200 metre beach on Phi Phi Leh made famous by the film The Beach, closed from June 2018 to January 2022 to let the reef recover. Boats no longer enter the bay: visitors land at a floating pier in Loh Samah Bay and walk about five minutes over a boardwalk, visits are limited to about one hour and a maximum of 375 people per hour, and swimming is banned (wading to knee depth only, fines apply). The bay is closed every year from 1 August to 30 September (reopened 1 October 2026) and the national park fee is 400 baht for foreign adults and 200 baht for children, usually collected by the tour operator. - [Loh Samah Bay](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/loh-samah-bay/) (Phi Phi Leh): Small bay on the southern tip of Phi Phi Leh, directly behind Maya Bay. Since 2022 it is the landing point for Maya Bay: boats tie up at a floating pier and visitors walk the boardwalk across the island. The bay itself is a good snorkelling spot with juvenile blacktip reef sharks, sergeant majors and parrotfish, though it gets crowded mid-morning. Closed with Maya Bay from 1 August to 30 September. - [Pileh Lagoon](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/pileh-lagoon/) (Phi Phi Leh): A long, narrow inlet on the east side of Phi Phi Leh, about 600 metres deep and walled by limestone cliffs around 100 metres high. The water is shallow, calm and turquoise over a sandy bottom; there is no coral inside the lagoon but snorkelling is possible near the entrance. It is part of almost every Phi Phi boat tour and is busiest in the late morning, so early or late visits are quieter. Covered by the national park fee. - [Viking Cave](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/viking-cave/) (Phi Phi Leh): Tham Phaya Nak, a 170 metre cave at the foot of the north-east cliffs of Phi Phi Leh, named after old boat paintings on its walls. Edible swiftlet nests are still harvested here under a guarded concession, and the cave has been closed to visitors for years, so tour boats only slow down to view it from the water. Snorkelling along the cliffs nearby is good. - [Bamboo Island (Ko Mai Phai)](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/bamboo-island-ko-mai-phai/) (Bamboo Island): A flat, uninhabited island about 8 kilometres north-east of Phi Phi Don, 30 to 40 minutes by longtail from Tonsai or opposite Laem Tong, with white sand all round and a reef that is good for snorkelling. It is part of Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park: the 400 baht (adult) / 200 baht (child) park fee applies and rangers run a small station and campsite. It is very busy with tour boats in high season, especially around midday. - [Bamboo Island Camping (Mai Phai Camping)](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/bamboo-island-camping-mai-phai-camping/) (Bamboo Island): The national park campsite on Bamboo Island, the only place in the Phi Phi group where visitors can officially sleep on an uninhabited island. Camping is arranged with the park rangers on the island (tents are usually available for rent) and you must organise a longtail to drop you off and collect you; bring food and drinking water. Check availability with the national park before travelling, as the site can close in the monsoon. - [Mosquito Island (Ko Yung)](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/mosquito-island-ko-yung/) (Mosquito Island): Small rocky island just west of Bamboo Island with a narrow beach on its east side and a fringing reef that was once a standard snorkelling stop. The national park closed Ko Yung to visitors in 2016 to let the damaged coral recover and tours have since only passed by; confirm with your operator whether landing or snorkelling is currently allowed. - [Shark Point (Long Beach snorkel spot)](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/shark-point-long-beach-snorkel-spot/) (Long Beach (Hat Yao)): The rocky point at the eastern end of Long Beach where snorkellers swim out from the sand to watch blacktip reef sharks, usually up to about two metres long and harmless to people. Early morning and late afternoon at high tide give the best chance; the sharks are shy, so float quietly. Not to be confused with the Shark Point dive site (Hin Musang) north-west of Phi Phi near the King Cruiser wreck. - [Hin Klang](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/hin-klang/) (Bamboo Island): A large, shallow submerged reef in the channel between the northern tip of Phi Phi Don and Bamboo Island. There is nothing above the water, so it is visited by boat on snorkelling and dive trips for its hard coral gardens, anemones and dense reef fish; currents can be noticeable, so stay close to the boat. Inside the national park. - [Nui Bay Viewpoint](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/nui-bay-viewpoint/) (Nui Bay): Lookout on the ridge of the northern part of the island on the walking route between Loh Bagao and Nui Bay, with views down onto the cove and the west coast cliffs. The trail starts behind the SAii Phi Phi Island Village resort and is unpaved; allow 20 to 30 minutes uphill and wear proper shoes. - [Laem Tong Sunset Viewpoint](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/laem-tong-sunset-viewpoint/) (Laem Tong): Rocky lookout on the west side of the northern headland, reached by a short trail of about 10 to 15 minutes from the northern end of Laem Tong Beach near OUTRIGGER Phi Phi Island Resort. It faces west over the Andaman Sea and is the spot where Laem Tong guests go for sunset, since the beach itself faces east. The path is rough in places; bring a torch for the walk back. ### Everyday & services - [Phi Phi Island Hospital](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/phi-phi-island-hospital/) (Tonsai Village): The island's small government hospital at the western end of the village next to Phi Phi Cabana Hotel. It handles emergencies, first aid and basic treatment; serious cases are stabilised and transferred by boat to Krabi or Phuket. - [Worldmed Center](https://kohphiphi-live.com/places/worldmed-center/) (Tonsai Village, 00:00 to 00:00): Private international clinic with 24/7 emergency service, doctors, laboratory, X-ray and air-conditioned observation rooms, and support with insurance claims.
